Cellular South Announces Student Athlete of the Month Award
Jackson MS, February 2, 2004 –Cellular south announced Saturday the December and January winners of the Cellular South Student Athlete of the Month Award. During halftime of the Lady Wave’s Basketball game Cellular South presented senior basketball forward and pitcher, Jarred Koon with the December 2003 award, and Colin Cork, senior cheerleader and line backer for the Varsity Golden Wave Football Team the January 2004 recipient.
"I believe the selection committee has picked highly qualified recipients for these awards and it’s an honor for the students," Charles Ferguson, Tupelo High School athletic director and head football coach said. "We appreciate Cellular South’s involvement and support for this award."

This award started in September of 2003 to highlight the outstanding achievement for combined scholastic and collegiate performance for a student attending Tupelo High School.
Recipients to date include: September 2003 winner Betsy Martin, Golden Wave Swim Team; October winner Tessa Stimpson, Golden Wave Volleyball Team and November winner John Payne, Golden Wave Soccer Team.
