Cellular South Announces Waynesboro Grand Opening

JACKSON, Miss. - (Mar. 24, 2005) – Cellular South, the nation's largest privately held wireless company, is expanding its retail presence in Waynesboro and has opened a new store on Azalea Drive. Cellular South and the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will hold a grand opening and ribbon cutting at the new location on Friday, March 25 at 10:00 a.m. Radio station SL-100 will hold a radio remote at the store on Friday, March 25, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served, as well as drawings for door prizes and grand opening specials.

Cellular South has invested more than $400 million in its wireless network since 1999. The company recently announced a $56 million network expansion that includes the addition of more than 154 new cell sites in its wireless markets, with 110 of those slated for Mississippi. The company's CDMA third generation digital wireless network provides seamless coverage from Memphis, Tennessee, Mississippi, Coastal Alabama and the Florida Panhandle to Destin.

CDMA technology and additional cell sites further improve in-building coverage, network clarity, and capacity to accommodate voice and data traffic. Cellular South's family of flat-rate services includes unlimited local calling, unlimited nationwide long distance, and Unlimited Nationwide Text Messaging.

Waynesboro store hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All retail locations are closed on Sundays.

Cellular South supports the Lifeline Assistance program designed to make phone services available to qualifying applicants receiving income-based benefits. Cellular South provides this program so that wireless service is affordable for all Mississippians.
