Wireless company continues to provide latest technology and products

JACKSON, Miss. - (April 28, 2005) – Cellular South customers are the first in the country to be offered one of Nokia’s latest models and first CDMA flip phone with a MP3 player - the feature-packed 6255. The Nokia 6255 recently debuted exclusively at Cellular South’s stores.

This high-end CDMA phone includes a MP3 player, stereo FM radio, a built-in VGA camera with flash and eight megabytes of memory to hold multiple pictures, a video recorder, dual inside and outside color displays, infrared and supports Bluetooth® and BREW™ technology.

“Cellular South is dedicated to offering our customers the latest technology and services on a continual basis,” said Hu Meena, president of the 17-year-old company. “Our impressive line of phones coupled with our popular flat rate calling and text messaging plans have allowed us to meet the unique needs of our customers and remain a leader in the industry.”

This spring, Cellular South also has plans to test a newer version of CDMA, a radio network technology allowing several uses over one frequency. This technology will allow consumers to transfer e-mails, MP3 files and photos all at the same time.

Other new-to-market phones offered by Cellular South include the Audiovox PPC6600, a PDA-based phone, and the Kyocera Koi, a camera phone that swivels open unlike a regular flip phone.

In addition to providing cutting edge products to its customers, Cellular South is also continuing to grow its network. The company will spend $56 million to add 154 new cell sites to its wireless network this year.

“Not only are we committed to giving our customers the highest quality service, we also believe you should have the freedom to use your wireless phone when and how you want to use it,” said Suzy Hays, vice president of sales and marketing for Cellular South. “We have created plans and have made strategic investments that provide the best possible options for customers on both counts.”
