JACKSON, Miss. - (July 26, 2005) – Madison County residents Maren McKinley and Woody Stringer have recently completed summer internships at Cellular South.
Stringer, an intern in company's accounting department, is a senior accounting major at Delta State University and received the Cellular South Scholarship in 2001. McKinley, an intern in the sales and marketing department, is a senior marketing major at Mississippi State University and received the scholarship in 2004.
In addition to tuition assistance, Cellular South gave both students the opportunity to intern with the company, and they were two of several scholarship recipients who worked at the company's headquarters in Jackson this summer.

Stringer's and McKinley's scholarships are part of Cellular South's $1.5 million commitment to Mississippi's eight public universities. Since its inception in 1998, the Cellular South Scholarship program has awarded over $1 million in scholarships, endowments and building grants. Scholarship recipients must live in the Cellular South service area and meet specific academic and citizenship criteria as determined by the universities and Cellular South.
