JACKSON, Miss. - (July 27, 2005) – Brian Easley, a Jackson native and junior accounting major at Jackson State University, recently completed a summer internship at Cellular South in the accounting department.
Easley, a graduate of Callaway High School, received the Cellular South Scholarship in 2003. In addition to tuition assistance, Cellular South gave Easley the opportunity to intern with the company, and he was one of several scholarship recipients who worked at the company’s headquarters in Jackson this summer.

Easley’s scholarship is part of Cellular South’s $1.5 million commitment to Mississippi’s eight public universities. Since its inception in 1998, the Cellular South Scholarship program has awarded over $1 million in scholarships, endowments and building grants. Scholarship recipients must live in the Cellular South service area and meet specific academic and citizenship criteria as determined by the universities and Cellular South.
