MOBILE, Miss. - (August 20, 2005) – The GMAC Bowl along with new title sponsor Cellular South is proud to announce the 2005 speaker schedule for the Cellular South 1st & 10 Club.

"The Cellular South 1st & 10 Club is a great venue for football fans to swap stories and compare notes on all the teams' highlights each week," said Shawn Smith, area manager for Cellular South. "We are especially pleased to support our local teams and athletes who excel on and off the field."

The Cellular South 1st & 10 Club will be holding its first meeting of the 2005 football season Monday, September 12th beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Heron Lakes Country Club.

The 2005 speaker schedule features an impressive lineup of coaches from the professional and collegiate ranks. Both Auburn and Alabama will be well represented as Mike Shula and Tommy Tuberville will speak on consecutive nights in October. Mississippi State fans will be in for a treat as second year head coach Sylvester Croom will visit with the club in November. Controversial radio talk show host, Paul Finebaum will make a guest appearance in late November. Head coaches from Conference USA and the National Football League round out an extraordinary list of guest speakers.

In addition to the existing speaker schedule, Cellular South along with Regions Bank will honor high school athletes and scholars for their performances on the field as well as in the classroom. Each week Cellular South will recognize two outstanding high school football players, while Regions Bank will honor two exceptional high school students. Recipients of the Regions Bank Scholar of the Week award will then be eligible for a scholarship that will be awarded the week of the GMAC Bowl at the GMAC Financial Services Mayor's Luncheon.

"The Cellular South 1st & 10 Club continues to promote athletics and bring recognition to Mobile. I can't recall a single guest who was not impressed with the club and all it does to recognize athletic and scholastic excellence," stated Cellular South 1st & 10 Club President Murray Cape. "I have traveled across the country and visited many quarterback clubs, and the Cellular South 1st & 10 Club is one of the finest in the U.S."
