Ridgeland, MS (March 12, 2010) - The Cellular South Foundation, the corporate philanthropic arm of the nation's largest privately owned wireless communications provider, will be the title sponsor of the 10th annual Hospice Ministries golf tournament scheduled for Tuesday, April 20 at the Annandale Golf Club in Madison.

The tournament, one of the most popular in the Jackson metropolitan area, will feature a four-person scramble format in two flights with shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Continental breakfast, lunch and an awards dinner are planned for the event. Prizes include a chance to win $15,000 in cash, a new Cadillac and four getaway golf trips.

"We're excited to be partnering with a company like Cellular South that cares about improving the quality of life in communities where they do business," said Belinda Patterson, executive director of Hospice Ministries. "As a community-based, non-profit organization, we strive to provide premiere care to patients and families in our service area and proceeds from events like this one are an important part of our fundraising efforts."

Hospice Ministries, Inc. provides care for terminally ill individuals and their families in 31 counties in MS in private homes, in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and in their 50-bed inpatient facility in Ridgeland MS, 24 hours a day-7days a week. The facility is the oldest and largest hospice facility in MS with offices in Ridgeland, Brookhaven, and McComb. Hospice Ministries also offers bereavement care for families 13 months after death. The McClean Fletcher Children's Grief Center, a service of Hospice Ministries, is the only program in MS that specializes in grief support for children ages 4 to 18 and their families after the death of a loved one. These services are provided at no charge.

"Community service has been a priority of Cellular South for over two decades," said Jim Richmond, director of Corporate Communications for Cellular South and a member of the Cellular South Foundation board of directors. "We target academic, athletic, health, wellness, safety, civic and scholarship programs that improve lives and help communities thrive. We also give special priority to programs and services that improve the quality of life for everyone."

Richmond said Hospice Ministries not only provides comfort, dignity, and choice for the patient, but also offers patients and caregivers emotional and spiritual support. "Hospice Ministries is making a difference in the lives of thousands of Mississippi residents and their families," he said.

Individuals can sign up to play in the tournament for $250 per person or $1,000 for a team of four players. For more information or to register to play, contact Janie Asher Reynolds at Hospice Ministries at (601) 898-1053, ext. 207 or via e-mail at jreynolds@hospiceministries.org.
